Adult Enrichment Policies

Course Registration Information

Registration for adult enrichment courses is available online, by mail, or by phone—please note that in-person registration is not offered. Once you register, consider your enrollment confirmed unless you are contacted about a cancellation, schedule change, or if the course is full. To avoid cancellation due to low enrollment and to secure your spot, early registration is strongly encouraged. Room locations will be posted at the building entrance on the day of the course. For classes with enrollment limits, waiting lists will be maintained.

Registration Deadline

The deadline for mail-in registration for adult enrichment courses is one week before the start date of the course or until the course is full. Early registration is encouraged for the best selection and to ensure your course is not canceled due to a lack of enrollment.

Refund Policy

Courses: A full refund will be issued only if EdAdvance Adult & Continuing Education cancels a course due to low enrollment, weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances. For all other reasons, refund requests must be submitted at least two weeks before the course start date. No refunds will be granted once the course has begun. Please note that all refunds are subject to a $10 processing fee. EdAdvance Adult & Continuing Education reserves the right to postpone, reschedule, or cancel any course.
Trips: Trips are non-refundable, but registrations may be transferred to another passenger. Destinations may be delayed or rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. If the trip proceeds at a later time, refunds are not issued. Full refunds are only provided if a trip is canceled by EdAdvance Adult & Continuing Education. Medical emergencies may be considered for a refund with a doctor’s note, but are not guaranteed. Trip insurance is available and highly recommended for excursions that include event tickets (e.g., shows, sports, or performances).

School/Weather-Related Cancellations

In-Person Courses: In-person adult enrichment courses will be canceled when Falls Village, Torrington, or Watertown Public Schools are closed due to vacations, holidays, parent-teacher conferences, or inclement weather. If any of these districts cancel evening activities, adult enrichment classes will also be canceled. Updates will be announced on TV stations FOX61, WVIT, WFSB, and WTNH, and course participants will be notified of canceled courses via email. Courses canceled because of inclement weather will be rescheduled for a later date.
Online Courses: Online courses are not affected by the school/weather cancellation policy and will be held as scheduled.
Trips: Trips run rain, snow, or shine unless canceled by the tour and/or bus company.
